Telegraph: Monthly Mobilisation of 30,000 Troops Raises Questions Over Ukraine Casualty Figures
The British newspaper The Telegraph has reported that Ukraine’s plan to mobilise at least 30,000 soldiers each month has increased doubts over the accuracy of the country’s official casualty figures.
According to the paper, such a level of mass mobilisation suggests that Kyiv may have reported its true losses as lower than the actual figure. The Telegraph raised the issue in connection with Ukraine’s growing need for manpower on the front lines.
The report added that recent NATO assessments also indicate that Russia’s offensive capability is growing faster than Ukraine’s. According to The Telegraph, this could affect the balance of the war on the battlefield.
As efforts to reach peace continue, the war in Ukraine is still ongoing. Russia has also accused European NATO member states of obstructing the peace talks.
Ukraine has been embroiled in full-scale war since February 2022, following Russia’s large-scale invasion, and troop mobilisation in the country has been one of the main pillars of wartime management.
