50 Agricultural Greenhouses Put into Operation in Panjshir

Local officials in Panjshir have announced that 50 agricultural projects worth 125,000 Afghanis have been put into operation in the province. According to the officials, the projects were implemented with the aim of supporting farmers and strengthening domestic production.
Based on the information provided, the projects include the construction of 50 greenhouses in the Dara and Hesa Awal districts, as well as in the provincial center of Panjshir. Local authorities said the greenhouses will be used to produce vegetables and establish agricultural nurseries.
Officials also said that improved wheat seeds and chemical fertiliser will be distributed to 1,000 farmers in the coming days. They added that 150 farmers have also received harvesting machines in recent days.
According to local officials, these programmes have been implemented to increase domestic production, create job opportunities and strengthen food security in Panjshir. Panjshir is one of Afghanistan’s mountainous provinces, and agriculture in a number of its areas is considered one of the main sources of livelihood for residents.
