IOM to Support Reconstruction of 98 Earthquake-Damaged Homes in Kunar

The International Organization for Migration has announced that it will support 98 earthquake-affected families in Nurgal district of Kunar province in rebuilding their homes.

The agency wrote on its X page on Thursday, 5 Sunbula, that its teams, in cooperation with local residents, are supporting the rebuilding process for the homes of the affected families.

According to the International Organization for Migration, the assistance will be provided in stages and in line with progress in the construction work.

The United Nations says the aim of this support is to help earthquake-hit families rebuild shelter and prepare for the cold winter ahead.

Deadly earthquakes in Afghanistan in recent years have, in addition to causing loss of life, left extensive financial damage and forced many families in the affected provinces to face homelessness. Nurgal district is one of the areas of Kunar province in eastern Afghanistan.
