Taliban says it will strengthen jihadist schools in Kunar and Parwan

The Taliban administration has said it held a meeting with officials from jihadist schools in Kunar and Parwan and stressed the need to strengthen these centres and provide them with more facilities.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said Acting Minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir met Sheikh Abdul Qahir, head of a jihadist school in Kunar, and Sheikh Azizullah, head of a jihadist school in Parwan.

According to the ministry, the meeting discussed the activities and achievements of these schools.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir said at the meeting that jihadist schools are an “important part” of the Taliban administration and efforts are under way to provide the facilities needed to strengthen them.

Kunar and Parwan are provinces in Afghanistan, and schools play a broad role in the country’s educational and religious structure. However, the Taliban administration gave no further details on the type of facilities, the timing of the commitment, or how support for these schools will be delivered.
