39 Arrested on Theft and Human Trafficking Charges in Zaranj

Nimroz police command said 39 people have been arrested in the city of Zaranj over the past week on charges of theft, brawling, cooperation with killers and human trafficking.

According to Ataullah Mostafa, head of the criminal investigations department, the individuals were detained by security forces in various parts of Zaranj.

He said the cases of those arrested had been handed over to judicial and legal authorities after preliminary investigations were completed.

Nimroz police said the arrests were carried out as part of efforts to curb criminal activity in different areas of the province.

Zaranj is the capital of Nimroz province in southwestern Afghanistan and is considered an important route for travel and trade near the border with Iran.
