Taliban spokesman accuses Pakistan of meddling in Afghanistan’s internal affairs

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban administration, has accused Pakistan of interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and urged Islamabad to focus on resolving its own domestic problems instead of blaming neighbouring countries.
In an interview with Tolou News, Mujahid said Afghanistan’s internal issues are a matter for its people and that Pakistan should not interfere in these matters. He added that rather than intervening in Afghanistan’s affairs, Islamabad should take steps to address its own internal challenges and move toward positive relations with neighbouring countries.
The Taliban administration spokesman also claimed that ISIS has training camps in Pakistan and that the country encourages groups opposing the Taliban administration to fight in Afghanistan. According to him, the Taliban administration believes Pakistan is seeking to create insecurity in Afghanistan in order to destabilise the region.
Mujahid went on to say that the weapons in Afghanistan are used to ensure security inside the country and that they will not be allowed to be used from Afghan soil against any other country.
The remarks come as tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan continue, particularly over security issues and allegations that armed groups are using Afghan territory against Pakistan. Last week, the Pakistani president’s spokesman and the interior minister also accused the Taliban administration of cooperating with India and terrorist groups against Pakistan.
Pakistan is one of Afghanistan’s key neighbours, and relations between the two sides have repeatedly been strained in recent years by border tensions and security allegations.
