Taliban Ministry of Agriculture Stresses Conditional Regulation of Agricultural Organizations’ Activities
The Taliban-led Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has announced that all programs and activities of partner organizations in the agriculture sector must be planned and implemented based on the policies and strategies established by the ministry.
The ministry’s press office reported today that this issue was raised during a coordination and technical meeting with officials from the World Hunger Relief Institute. The meeting focused on ongoing cooperation and ways to expand joint programs in the agriculture sector.
According to the Taliban Ministry of Agriculture, the continuation of bilateral cooperation to develop the agriculture sector was emphasized, and the efforts of the institute were appreciated.
Officials from the World Hunger Relief Institute also noted the ministry’s cooperation in facilitating the signing of memorandums of understanding and announced their intention to implement more projects in Afghanistan’s agriculture sector.
The agriculture sector is one of the main sources of livelihood in the country, with a large portion of the rural population dependent on it. Under these circumstances, the way international organizations’ support programs are regulated and implemented can directly affect farmers’ access to aid and development projects.
