Iraqi Prime Minister to Visit Iran for Talks on Trade and Gas

Iraq’s Prime Minister, Ali Al-Zaidi, will travel to Tehran on Thursday at the invitation of Iran’s president, the Iraqi government spokesman announced.

According to Haider Al-Aboudi, during this visit, several bilateral issues will be discussed and negotiated, including trade cooperation, the transportation sector, and Iraq’s imported gas from Iran.

The Iraqi government spokesman also emphasized that the issue of weapons monopoly under the government is a matter of sovereignty and will not be negotiated in other capitals.

He added that following these diplomatic activities, the Iraqi Prime Minister will also travel to Turkey and Syria at the end of this month, although the exact dates of these visits have not yet been announced.
