Three Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Balkh Province

The Balkh Police Command, affiliated with the Taliban administration, announced the arrest of three individuals on charges of buying and selling narcotics in Mazar-i-Sharif city and Balkh district. These individuals were identified and detained following a security operation.

According to a statement issued by the police command, 300 grams of pregabalin, 19 tablets known as “Ka,” and 35 grams of methamphetamine were seized from the detainees.

Officials added that the cases of these individuals will be referred to judicial and legal authorities for further legal proceedings and sentencing after initial investigations are completed.

Balkh province is considered one of the important regions in northern Afghanistan, and there have been previous reports of drug discoveries and seizures in various parts of the province.
