Nearly 100 Kilograms of Narcotics Seized in Takhar and Farah Provinces

The Takhar Police Chief announced that, as a result of targeted operations by security forces, 90 kilograms of opium, expertly concealed in a vehicle and being trafficked to an unknown destination, were discovered and confiscated.

According to the police chief, the narcotics were found during an inspection, and preliminary investigations are ongoing in connection with the case. Taliban officials in Takhar have not provided further details on the identities of those involved or the likely route of the shipment.

Meanwhile, in Farah province, 7 kilograms of opium and over 1,500 kilograms of cannabis plants used in drug production were discovered and destroyed.

Authorities stated that four individuals have been arrested in connection with these two incidents and will be referred to judicial and legal authorities after the completion of initial investigations. Despite continuous announcements of seizures by the Taliban administration, it remains unclear to what extent these measures have been able to disrupt the main narcotics trafficking networks.
