Death Toll from Venezuela Earthquakes Rises to 4,333

Venezuelan officials have announced that the death toll from two deadly earthquakes that struck the country on June 24 has risen to 4,333. According to them, 16,740 people have also been injured as a result of this natural disaster.

Jorge Rodríguez, the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, stated that more than 6,400 individuals have been rescued from under the rubble. He emphasized that search and rescue operations to find survivors are still ongoing.

Based on information provided by the authorities, approximately 17,000 people have been left homeless due to these earthquakes. Additionally, 856 buildings were damaged, of which 190 have partially or completely collapsed.

The President of the National Assembly further added that the Venezuelan government plans to begin distributing the first houses to the victims starting next week; a move aimed at providing shelter for the affected families.
