Two Arrested with 104 Kilograms of Narcotics in Takhar Province

The Taliban’s Interior Affairs Department has announced that their narcotics control forces in Takhar province have arrested two individuals along with 104 kilograms of narcotics.
According to the department’s statement, the arrested individuals had skillfully concealed the drugs inside a taxi vehicle and were in the process of transporting them to an unknown destination. No further details about the type of narcotics or the transportation route were provided.
The statement added that after completing preliminary investigations, the suspects will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities.
Takhar is a northeastern province of the country, where reports of drug trafficking routes have surfaced in recent years. Despite the Taliban’s repeated claims of combating narcotics, experts emphasize that transparency in reporting statistics and legal follow-up is essential to seriously assess the effectiveness of this fight.
