Taliban Deputy Leader Mullah Baradar to Attend Funeral of Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran

A reliable source told Tolo News that a delegation from the Taliban administration, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the economic deputy prime minister, will travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran today, Thursday, July 2, to attend the funeral and burial ceremony of the martyred leader of the nation, Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul).

Earlier, the chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Kabul had handed an official invitation for the participation of Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Taliban prime minister, in this ceremony to Mullah Abdul Wasi, head of the prime minister’s office. So far, no further details have been released regarding the final level of senior Taliban officials participating in the ceremony.

Iranian media have reported that the funeral and burial ceremonies of the martyred leader of the nation, Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, will begin next Saturday. These ceremonies are part of the official programs organized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
