Venezuela Earthquakes Death Toll Rises to 1,719

The Speaker of Venezuela’s Parliament has announced that following two earthquakes measuring over 7.0 magnitude in the country, the death toll has reached 1,719, with another 5,034 people injured.
According to international media reports, these two powerful earthquakes have caused extensive damage across various areas of Venezuela, severely destroying numerous buildings. The intensity of the quakes was calculated to be over 7.0 on the Richter scale.
Previously, the United Nations had estimated that the number of missing persons due to this natural disaster could exceed 50,000, a figure that has heightened concerns over a potential increase in casualties.
On Friday, the UN announced that rescue teams from 17 countries are being deployed to Venezuela to participate in search and rescue operations. Efforts to locate the missing and provide aid to the injured are ongoing.
