Netanyahu Calls Erdogan’s Statements Against Israel ‘Very Serious’

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, has described recent remarks by Turkish officials against Israel as “very serious” and said he intends to share the matter with the United States.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting, he said that speeches by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan contain threats that cannot be ignored. According to Netanyahu, “Rarely does a day pass without Erdogan calling for the destruction of Israel,” and he believes such statements must be closely monitored.

The Israeli Prime Minister added that the historical experience of his people shows that one must be vigilant in the face of explicit threats. He emphasized: “We take these words very seriously and do not ignore them.”

According to reports from Israeli media, the Prime Minister’s office has also confirmed these remarks in a conversation with the Times of Israel. Netanyahu also said he will draw the attention of “American friends” to this issue.

In recent weeks, verbal tensions between Turkish and Israeli officials have escalated. Notably, earlier this month, Turkey’s Interior Minister called for the “liberation” of East Jerusalem, highlighting again the deep differences between the two sides over the Palestinian issue and the status of Jerusalem.
