Switzerland Hosts Preliminary Meeting to Implement New Iran-US Peace Agreement

The Swiss government has announced that representatives from the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Qatar, and several other countries will meet on Friday in a preliminary session to discuss the implementation of the newly signed peace agreement.

According to Swiss officials, the meeting will focus on practical mechanisms and the steps needed to execute the agreement. Details regarding the delegation levels and the exact venue of the meeting have not yet been disclosed.

This effort comes just hours after, in the early hours of Thursday, a digital memorandum to end the war was signed by Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a statement released by the Swiss government, the aim of the meeting is to coordinate technical and multilateral efforts to implement the agreement’s provisions. Some international affairs experts consider the involvement of regional and extra-regional countries a crucial factor in accelerating the implementation process.
