Kabul and Tehran Stress Boosting Afghanistan’s Exports and Economic Ties

The head of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment emphasized expanding economic relations and increasing Afghanistan’s exports to Iran during a meeting with the Joint Chamber of Commerce delegations from Iran and Afghanistan, as well as several Iranian officials. The meeting focused on ways to strengthen investment and develop private sector cooperation.
According to a statement from Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the meeting included officials from the Joint Chamber of Iran and Afghanistan and Iranian representatives, including Dr. Beykdel, the Iranian Republic’s chargé d’affaires, and Seyed Karim Hashemi, head of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
During the meeting, topics such as removing existing barriers to trade exchanges, facilitating processes for traders, increasing the export of Afghan goods to Iranian markets, and providing more opportunities for investment were discussed.
Both sides also highlighted the significant role of the private sector in strengthening economic relations between Kabul and Tehran and stressed creating new opportunities for traders and investors.
Afghanistan and Iran are considered important trade partners. In recent years, economic institutions of both countries have repeatedly emphasized increasing trade volume, expanding joint investments, and developing cooperation in sectors such as agricultural exports, mineral resources, transit, and energy.
