9 Million AFN Water Supply Network Project Launched in Logar’s Barky Bark District

The construction of a water supply network, costing 9 million Afghanis, has officially begun in Barky Bark district of Logar province. Taliban local officials say that with the completion of this project, hundreds of families will gain access to safe drinking water.
Mawlavi Noorullah Ghalib, the district governor of Barky Bark, stated during the inauguration ceremony that joint cooperation between the people and officials is essential for the reconstruction and development of the country. He emphasized that progress and prosperity are not possible without coordination and sincere efforts from all segments of society.
Meanwhile, Mawlavi Noorullah Hikmat, head of the Rural Revival and Development Directorate of Logar, announced that his department has undertaken more than ten development projects in various areas of the province over the past three months. He added that efforts to launch additional projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the residents are ongoing.
This water supply network is funded by the Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR) and is expected to be completed within three months. As part of this project, a deep well will be drilled, a water reservoir with a capacity of 40 cubic meters will be constructed, over 16,000 meters of pipeline will be extended, and water taps will be installed for 193 families.
Officials also said that dozens of people will be temporarily employed during the implementation of the project. Moreover, upon completion, 512 families, a religious school, a primary school, and ten mosques will have access to safe drinking water—an issue that, if managed transparently and maintained properly, could alleviate some of the water shortages in the area.
