Taliban Embassy in Doha Holds Eid al-Adha Celebration for Afghan Residents

The Taliban administration’s embassy in Doha announced that it held a ceremony to mark Eid al-Adha, attended by a number of Afghan residents living in Qatar. The event saw participation from tribal elders, traders, and several Afghans residing in Qatar.

Mohammad Sadiq Shaheen, the Taliban administration’s ambassador to Qatar, congratulated attendees on Eid al-Adha during his speech. He proceeded to provide information about what he described as “comprehensive security provision, economic progress, and improvement of social services” in Afghanistan.

The Taliban ambassador did not provide specific details regarding these claims, while various international organizations have reported in recent months on Afghanistan’s economic challenges, unemployment, and social restrictions. Nevertheless, the Taliban representative in Qatar emphasized that achievements across different sectors continue.

The Eid al-Adha ceremony is held annually by Afghanistan’s political delegations abroad and is usually attended by diplomats and members of the Afghan community residing overseas.
