Saudi Embassy in Kabul Condoles Deaths in Deadly Laghman Traffic Accident

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Kabul has issued an official statement mourning the death of 18 individuals in a recent traffic incident in Laghman province and extended condolences to the victims’ families. The tragic event occurred several days ago, involving passengers of a vehicle transporting families returning from Pakistan.

On Sunday, June 10, Bakhtar News Agency, operating under the Taliban administration, reported that the Saudi embassy expressed regret over the accident in its message and wished patience and endurance for the bereaved.

According to the Taliban administration’s announcement, the incident resulted in 18 fatalities, including five women and ten children, with another 29 injured. The wounded were transferred to medical centers for treatment.

Simultaneously, another traffic incident in Nuristan province resulted in four fatalities. It is reported that the deceased were original residents of Farah province who had traveled to Nuristan for leisure.

In recent years, traffic accidents in Afghanistan have increased, raising persistent concerns about the condition of highways, lack of effective supervision, and insufficient serious intervention by responsible entities under the Taliban administration.
