Afghanistan-India Trade Surpasses One Billion Dollars in 2025

The Taliban administration has announced that the trade volume between Afghanistan and India exceeded one billion dollars in the Persian year 1404 (March 2025–March 2026). According to the provided statistics, more than 773 million dollars of this amount comes from Afghanistan’s exports to India.
Akhundzada Abdulsalam Jawad, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated that the majority of Afghanistan’s exports to India include figs, henna, raisins, saffron, pistachios, almonds, apples, cumin, and dried apricots. These products are among the country’s most important agricultural and horticultural commodities, playing a significant role in the income of traders and farmers.
In return, Afghanistan imports medicines, new clothing, cotton fabrics, and electrical appliances from India. These goods constitute essential supplies for the domestic markets.
According to published information, the total trade volume between the two countries in the year 1403 (March 2024–March 2025) was close to 890 million dollars. The increase in figures in 1404 indicates a relative growth in trade exchanges between Kabul and New Delhi.
