Taliban Enforces Special Security Measures Across Afghanistan for Eid al-Adha

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced special security measures nationwide to ensure the safety of worshippers and residents during Eid al-Adha. Security forces will have a strong presence at prayer sites, mosques, and other public gathering places.
Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the ministry, stated in a message marking Eid al-Adha that full readiness has been achieved to protect citizens, with specific security plans implemented across different locations. According to him, the aim of these measures is to prevent any potential threats during the Eid ceremonies.
Additionally, Bismillah Habib, the deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, said that security personnel will also be deployed on highways, parks, and other recreational areas to allow people to celebrate Eid in a safe environment.
The ministry has urged youths and adolescents to refrain from using firecrackers and other incendiary objects that could cause harm or disturbances. It emphasized that public cooperation with security forces is crucial for maintaining order and ensuring a peaceful Eid.
In previous years, there have been concerns about security threats during religious events; therefore, ensuring the safety of religious ceremonies remains a critical responsibility of security agencies, with citizens expecting these measures to be effectively and practically enforced.
