11 Dead and 15 Injured in Natural Disasters Across Several Afghan Provinces

The Taliban’s Disaster Management Authority announced that natural events over the past 24 hours in several provinces have resulted in 11 deaths and 15 injuries. These incidents have also caused extensive financial damage and the destruction of residential homes.

According to Mohammad Yousuf Hammad, head of Information and Communications and spokesperson for the authority, 107 houses were completely destroyed, and 140 others were partially damaged. Additionally, 71 livestock were killed, and 278 jeribs of agricultural land were lost.

Furthermore, these events displaced 9 families from their main areas, who are now in urgent need of humanitarian aid. The damages have been recorded in the provinces of Panjshir, Baghlan, Paktia, and Takhar.

Natural disasters annually cause casualties and damages in several provinces of the country. Under such circumstances, it is necessary for the Taliban administration to take more effective and transparent measures in preparedness, immediate response, and support for affected families to prevent an increase in future casualties.
