11 DShK Heavy Machine Guns Discovered in Nangarhar Province
Officials from the 201st Khalid Bin Walid Corps announced that border forces in Lal Pur district of Nangarhar province have discovered and confiscated 11 heavy DShK machine guns and several parts of M4 rifles.
Wahidullah Mohammadi, spokesperson for the corps, stated that these military equipments were obtained during a search operation and were intended to be smuggled into Afghanistan from Pakistan. He did not provide further details regarding the exact time of the operation or possible arrests of related individuals.
Nangarhar province, due to its border location and multiple crossing points, has always been one of the sensitive areas for illegal crossings and arms smuggling. Experts believe that the continuation of such incidents indicates serious challenges in effective border control.
The Taliban administration has announced the discovery of this shipment amid ongoing concerns about the spread of illegal weapons in the country. Clearer and more accountable measures are expected to be implemented to prevent arms trafficking.
