11 Heavy DShK Machine Guns Discovered in Nangarhar Province
Officials from the 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps announced that border forces in Lal Pur district of Nangarhar province have discovered and seized 11 heavy DShK machine guns and several parts of M4 rifles.
Wahidullah Mohammadi, the spokesperson for the corps, stated that these military equipments were found during a reconnaissance operation and were intended to be smuggled into Afghanistan from Pakistan. He did not provide further details regarding the exact timing of the operation or possible arrests of involved individuals.
Due to its border location and multiple crossing points, Nangarhar province has always been a sensitive area in terms of illegal crossings and arms smuggling. Experts believe the continuation of such incidents indicates serious challenges in effective border control.
The Taliban administration’s announcement of this seizure comes amid ongoing concerns about the spread of illegal weapons in the country, with expectations for more transparent and accountable measures to prevent arms trafficking.
