12 Ice Factories Operating in Laghman with 360 Million Afghani Investment

Local officials in Laghman province announced that over the past few years, 12 ice production factories have been established and put into operation across various districts of the province. According to them, these factories were created with a total investment of approximately 360 million afghanis by private sector investors.
Mullah Salamat Khan Bilal, head of industry and commerce in Laghman, stated that these investments aim to strengthen domestic production and meet market demand. He added that currently, 60 percent of the ice produced is consumed within Laghman province.
According to the official, the remaining 40 percent of production from these factories is transported to neighboring provinces. The increase in ice factory activities in Laghman comes amid growing demand for cooling materials, especially during the hot season, in many parts of the country.
Laghman, a province in eastern Afghanistan, has witnessed scattered investments in production sectors in recent years. The establishment of such factories can provide employment opportunities for local residents and reduce market dependence on imports of similar products.
