Taliban Accelerates Land Distribution to Returning Afghan Migrants

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban administration has announced that the process of distributing land to returning migrants in designated settlements has accelerated, with over 6,500 families each receiving a parcel of land in the past five days.
Hamdullah Fetrat stated in a press release that these lands have been allocated in special townships intended for the resettlement of migrants who have returned to the country. According to him, the distribution process is ongoing in several provinces, and efforts to speed up this program continue.
In recent months, the forced and voluntary return of thousands of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries has placed significant pressure on existing resources and facilities. The resettlement of these families is considered one of the major challenges in the management of migration.
However, details about the exact locations of these settlements, the availability of infrastructure such as water, electricity, and schools, as well as clear criteria for land distribution have not yet been provided; an issue that many returning families regard as a serious concern. Experts emphasize that transparency and effective oversight of such programs are essential to prevent disorder and ensure fairness in land allocation.
