China Urges US and Iran to Adhere to Agreement Amid Renewed Attacks

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson responded to recent US attacks on Iranian territory by stating that Beijing is closely monitoring the latest developments in the Middle East and calls on both sides to adhere to the terms of the agreement between Tehran and Washington. According to international media reports, the Chinese official, in a statement, said that the resumption of hostilities benefits neither party and that military means cannot resolve fundamental problems. He emphasized that disputes should be settled through dialogue and negotiation. The spokesperson also called for the abandonment of the use of force and urged the US and Iran to respect the commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries. Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) had earlier announced in a statement that US forces carried out a new round of attacks against targets in Iran on July 7.
