Five Family Members Killed in Drone Strike in Kunar Province

Local sources in Kunar province report that a drone strike in the Manogi district has killed five members of a family, including a woman and three children. The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, in the Pej Darra area.
According to sources, the victims were from a family recently expelled from the Swat region of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and had settled in Kunar. No further details about the victims’ identities or the status of other family members have been released.
The sources did not specify which country carried out the strike. However, Kunar province in eastern Afghanistan has repeatedly been targeted by air and rocket attacks from Pakistan in recent months, incidents that have caused widespread concern among local residents.
Taliban local officials in Kunar have not commented on the incident so far. The lack of official clarity regarding such events has raised questions about border security measures and the protection of civilians in the province.
