UNICEF Emphasizes Continued Humanitarian Aid for Afghan Children Amid Crisis

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, has expressed gratitude for the long-standing cooperation and persistent support from the European Union towards its programs for children in Afghanistan, coinciding with Europe Day.

UNICEF announced that, in collaboration with the EU delegation in Afghanistan and the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), it continues to provide life-saving services and aid to children across the country.

According to published information, these collaborations include delivering essential services to children in various sectors—services that are critically important for Afghan families given the current difficult circumstances.

As many children face serious barriers to accessing education, healthcare, and other fundamental services following the Taliban’s return to power, international organizations including UNICEF stress the need to maintain humanitarian support to prevent the deepening of the humanitarian crisis.
