Balkh Traffic Delegation Travels to Uzbekistan for Specialized Training
The police command of Balkh province, under Taliban administration, has announced that a delegation from the province’s traffic department traveled to Uzbekistan to participate in a specialized training program. According to officials, the program was organized by Uzbekistan’s traffic police and covered topics such as traffic management, traffic accident assessment, administrative affairs, and media skills.
Officials stated that the purpose of this trip was to strengthen technical coordination and exchange experiences between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. They believe that enhancing the professional capacities of traffic personnel can help improve urban services and reduce traffic accidents.
Balkh province, especially the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, is considered one of the busiest areas in northern Afghanistan, where traffic management holds particular importance. However, the Taliban administration has not yet provided further details regarding the duration of the training, the number of participants, or how the acquired knowledge will be implemented across the province.
Urban experts have repeatedly emphasized that to reduce traffic accidents, in addition to training personnel, there is a serious need to strengthen urban infrastructure, traffic signs, and regular monitoring.
