Pakistani Politician Claims No Taliban Commanders Killed in Pakistan’s Cross-Border Attacks

Mohsin Dawar, leader of Pakistan’s National Democratic Movement and former member of the country’s parliament, stated that not a single Taliban member or commander has been killed in all of Pakistan’s military attacks targeting parts of Afghanistan.

He made these remarks during a press conference in Peshawar, highlighting the declared objectives of these attacks and saying the operational results show that none of the Taliban figures have been eliminated in these strikes.

Dawar posed a critical question: “You go to Kabul and Kandahar to search for Afghan Taliban, but what about their centers in Waziristan, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Lahore?”

These comments come amid ongoing cross-border attacks by Pakistan on eastern Afghanistan, which have consistently sparked reactions and concerns. Critics argue that the continuation of this situation, without transparency regarding the goals and outcomes of the operations, could negatively impact the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the security situation of residents in border areas.
