Kabul Meeting Focuses on Strengthening Resilient Cities in Afghanistan

Representatives from the diplomatic community, the United Nations, and several international organizations gathered in Kabul for a preliminary meeting related to the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) to discuss the future of Afghan cities.

The event was hosted by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) office in Afghanistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main focus of the meeting was on enhancing the resilience of cities and communities against natural, economic, and social challenges.

Participants emphasized the importance of regional and international cooperation to improve urban conditions in Afghanistan. According to the organizers, such discussions can pave the way for greater coordination towards sustainable development in the country’s urban areas.
