Avalanche in Badakhshan’s Koh Ab Claims Four Lives

The spokesperson for Badakhshan Police Command under the Taliban administration announced that an avalanche on the Koh Ab district route in this province has resulted in the deaths of four individuals. According to the spokesperson, the incident occurred due to a sudden snow slide on one of the district’s communication roads.
Ehsanullah Kamgar stated that the victims were residents of the Cheshm Dehra village located in the Shakhro area of Koh Ab district. They were on their way to the Raghistan district for labor work when they encountered the avalanche along the route.
Local officials reported that the incident took place three days ago, but the victims’ bodies were recovered from under the snow and handed over to their families today.
Badakhshan province, a mountainous region in the northeastern part of the country, faces frequent risks of avalanches and road closures during winter and early spring. This recurring hazard claims several lives annually and complicates travel between districts.
