Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture Emphasizes Ongoing Cooperation with FAO

Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the Taliban administration, Chancellor Usmani, during a meeting with officials from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), stressed the continuation of coordination and the effective implementation of projects related to increasing improved seeds, chemical fertilizers, and agricultural production.
According to him, strengthening the agriculture sector and boosting domestic production require sustained cooperation and organized project management. He requested that joint programs be implemented with consideration of the real needs of farmers and the conditions of various regions across the country.
The meeting also underscored the importance of transparent and needs-based cooperation to ensure that aid is delivered effectively to beneficiaries. The FAO is regarded as one of the key international organizations supporting agriculture and food security in Afghanistan.
