Afghan Families Continue Returning from Torkham Amid Rising Pakistani Security Pressures

The return of Afghan families from the Torkham route to their home country continues; these families, who have lived in Pakistan for extended periods, are now compelled to leave their residences.
Some returning families report that in recent weeks, increased security measures and restrictions imposed by Pakistani forces have made daily life difficult and living conditions harsh.
According to these residents, mounting security pressures, fears of arrest, and limitations on mobility have forced them to decide to return—a decision accompanied by significant economic and social challenges for many.
The Torkham border crossing, one of the main transit routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, has recently seen a steady influx of families re-entering Afghanistan, facing an uncertain future within the country.
