US Military Convoy Moves from Al-Asad Base to Erbil and Syria

A security source in Iraq’s Anbar province reports that American forces have withdrawn a large military convoy from the Al-Asad base in the western part of the province. According to the source, the convoy included about 150 trucks carrying troops and military equipment, moving toward Al-Tanf base in Syria and Harir base in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The source added that no specific purpose has been announced for this troop and equipment movement by the US, and American officials have not provided any official explanation regarding the matter.
Based on the information provided, this is the second time during the current period that American forces have evacuated part of the Al-Asad base. The security source stated that during the transfer of this convoy, unprecedented security measures were implemented along the al-Waleed border crossing route.
Alongside these ground movements, military helicopters affiliated with the US-led international coalition also took to the skies above the convoy’s route, indicating the high sensitivity of this military transfer.
