Turkey Expresses Condolences to Afghanistan Following Deadly Floods and Earthquakes

The Turkish Embassy in Kabul has expressed its condolences and sympathy to the people of Afghanistan in the wake of the recent deadly floods and earthquakes. In a statement, the diplomatic mission described these natural disasters as sorrowful events.

According to statistics provided by the National Emergency Management Authority, 77 people have lost their lives and 137 others have been injured as a result of natural disasters over the past nine days across various parts of the country. These incidents have caused significant damage in several provinces.

In addition to human casualties, numerous residential homes and farmland have been destroyed, leading to substantial financial losses for many families, the authority reported. Floods and earthquakes are among the natural events that annually affect certain areas of Afghanistan.

In recent years, the recurrence of such disasters has underscored the urgent need for better preparedness and effective support for the victims—a key demand consistently voiced by citizens toward responsible institutions.
