Floods in Paktia Cut Off Roads to Three Districts, Cause Significant Damage

Local sources in Paktia province report that recent rains and resulting floods have cut off road access to several districts from the provincial center. According to these sources, the routes leading to the Samkani, Dand-e-Patan, and Ahmadkhel districts have been blocked due to road damage and rising water levels.

On Friday, 14th of Hamal, sources confirmed that this incident has caused considerable financial losses to residents. They stated that numerous families are facing serious challenges in commuting and transporting goods and essential supplies.

It has also been reported that large areas of agricultural lands have been devastated by the floods. Local residents warn that the destruction of crops could negatively impact the livelihoods of farmers in these areas.

Paktia, an eastern province of Afghanistan, experiences seasonal monsoon floods every year during the rainy season. In the absence of resilient infrastructure, these events cause significant financial damage to the local population.
