Thousands of Families Displaced by Taliban-Pakistan Clashes in Afghanistan

The Norwegian Refugee Council has announced that as a result of military clashes between the Taliban administration and Pakistan in parts of Afghanistan, thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes and are now living in dire humanitarian conditions.

On Friday, April 2, the council released a statement saying that displaced families are living in substandard tents and areas with limited access to essential services such as drinking water, healthcare, and adequate shelter.

According to the information provided, the ongoing military tensions between the two sides have made civilians the most vulnerable, leaving them facing shortages of basic necessities. In recent years, similar conflicts along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border have repeatedly caused civilian displacement.

The Norwegian Refugee Council emphasized that providing immediate humanitarian aid to meet the basic needs of these families is vital, and the international community must take urgent action to prevent the escalation of the humanitarian crisis.
