Helmand Governor Claims Pakistan Conducts Airstrikes on Afghanistan on US Advice

Amrullah Mansoor, the Taliban-appointed governor of Helmand province, stated during his visit to Badakhshan province that Pakistan is carrying out airstrikes on Afghanistan based on recommendations from the United States. He made these remarks at an official meeting, assuring that “no one should worry” as, according to him, they are defending the country “with full hands.”

Mansoor did not provide details about the timing, locations, or possible casualties of these attacks, nor did he present concrete evidence to support his claim. This comes amid previously reported border tensions and sporadic clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban-affiliated personnel.

Despite this, Taliban officials have yet to offer clear explanations on how the country’s airspace is managed or on practical measures to prevent such incidents from recurring—issues that have raised concerns among residents of some border provinces.

Experts have consistently emphasized that transparency regarding security matters and providing accurate information to the public play a crucial role in reducing public anxiety and preventing the spread of rumors, responsibilities fundamental to any governing authority.
