Head of US National Counterterrorism Center Resigns Citing Opposition to War Against Iran

Joseph Kent, the head of the United States National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation from his position. He cited his opposition to the ongoing war against Iran as the reason for his decision, stating that he could not support this course of action.
Kent wrote in a message on the social media platform X that, in his view, Iran does not pose a direct threat to the United States. He also claimed that the initiation of this war was pressured by Israel.
The American official emphasized that due to this difference in perspective, he decided to step down from his responsibilities. So far, no official U.S. authorities have responded to his statements.
