Distribution of Residential Plots Begins for Returning Migrants in Ghazni

Local authorities in Ghazni province have announced the start of distributing residential plots to Afghan families who have returned to the country after migration. According to officials, these plots are being allocated to facilitate the permanent settlement of returning migrants.
Taliban administration officials in Ghazni state that this process is underway in “Migrant Town No. 1,” where eligible families will be relocated.
According to provided information, this township has been constructed over an area of 1,907 jeribs of land, encompassing approximately 1,800 residential plots.
While the initiation of this process can address some of the basic needs of returning migrants, questions remain regarding the transparency of plot distribution, provision of essential services such as water, electricity, schools, and health centers, as well as the creation of job opportunities. These are issues the Taliban administration is expected to clarify further. Many returning families face serious livelihood challenges, with housing being only one part of their overall needs.
