National Tree Planting Campaign 1405 Launched in Kabul

The National Directorate of Environmental Protection under the Taliban administration announced the launch of the 1405 National Tree Planting Campaign in Kabul, under the slogan ‘Healthy Environment, Bright Future.’ This initiative is being organized in collaboration with a partner organization.

According to information provided at the inauguration ceremony, the institute ‘TLO’ is involved in implementing this program. Engineer Abdul Rahim Khurram, a representative of the institute, stated that ‘TLO’ has been active in various sectors for the past 23 years.

Officials say that as part of this campaign, 1,100 saplings will be planted in the Tepe Kola Muslim area of Kabul city. Additionally, 900 saplings are planned to be planted in several schools across the city.

Environmental experts emphasize that expanding green areas in large cities, especially Kabul, which is facing air pollution and a decline in vegetation cover, can play a vital role in improving air quality and urban beauty. However, the continuation of such programs and monitoring the maintenance of the saplings remain major challenges in recent years.
