First Emirati Fuel Tank Station Opens in Kunduz, Afghanistan

The first Emirati fuel tank station was inaugurated in Kunduz province with an investment of 21 million Afghanis and has officially commenced operations. Local Taliban officials stated that this center was established to provide quality fuel at reasonable prices.

According to these officials, the fuel tank aims to compete with private companies by supplying the necessary fuel for the residents of Kunduz. They emphasized that offering fuel at prices lower than the market rate is a key priority of this project.

Kunduz is one of the important provinces in northeastern Afghanistan, with extensive demand for fuel services due to its transit location. In recent years, residents of this province have frequently complained about fluctuating prices and poor fuel quality in some areas.

However, some economic experts believe that the Taliban administration’s direct entry into the fuel market requires transparency in management and stringent oversight to maintain fair competition with the private sector and prevent monopolies or economic injustice.
