Lavrov Says No Evidence Iran Is Seeking Nuclear Weapons, Calls for Diplomatic Solutions

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, stated that so far, no evidence has been presented indicating that Iran is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons. He emphasized that resolving tensions related to Iran is only possible through diplomatic channels.
Referring to the current situation, Lavrov said that before any other actions are taken, military operations causing civilian casualties must be stopped. According to him, preventing civilian casualties should be a priority.
The Russian foreign minister also announced the continuation of talks between Moscow and Washington at various levels and formats. He added that the time has come to begin a comprehensive dialogue with the United States regarding how the country views the world and the role it assigns to other international actors.
Lavrov expressed hope that the US would be prepared for serious negotiations on all global security issues and stressed that the existing crisis surrounding Iran must be managed through political and diplomatic means.
