ISIS Claims Responsibility for Armed Attack on Checkpoint in Raqqa

ISIS has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on the Al-Sabahiya checkpoint in Raqqa, located in northeastern Syria. The attack targeted forces affiliated with the Jolani regime.

According to regional media, a Syrian security source reported that at least four of the Jolani regime’s forces were killed and two others wounded as a result of the incident. The attack took place in the western part of Raqqa city.

The Ministry of Interior of the Jolani regime stated that this was the second attack in the same area in recent days. According to the ministry, during an attack a day prior, one of the assailants was killed.

Previously, ISIS had issued threats against the Jolani regime through various messages. Raqqa has long been one of Syria’s most volatile areas, with various armed groups operating there over the years.
