BBC Arabic Reports Declining Popularity for Trump Amid Economic and Immigration Concerns

BBC Arabic reported that simultaneously with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, delivering a speech at the joint session of Congress emphasizing “economic achievements,” poll results indicate a decline in public satisfaction with his performance.
According to the report, Trump highlighted several economic successes during his speech; however, recent findings show that a large portion of American citizens are dissatisfied with his economic management. This comes despite the economy being a central theme of his election campaigns and political promises.
Robert Rowland, a professor at the University of Kansas, stated that emphasizing achievements and attacking critics is part of Trump’s usual approach. According to him, speeches at the joint session of Congress generally offer presidents the opportunity to both boost their popularity and present a clear plan for the future.
The report further mentioned that Trump’s immigration policies have also faced criticism, with polls revealing that many citizens do not consider the current path appropriate. Additionally, the U.S. Supreme Court announced on Friday that several tariffs imposed by Trump were illegal; a decision that, according to observers, raises questions about how U.S. trade policies are managed.
After returning to the White House, Trump made broad promises in the areas of economy and immigration, but the BBC Arabic report shows that his position in these two fields has weakened compared to the beginning of his new presidential term, and this situation has impacted his public popularity.
