Ghazni Exports 13,000 Tons of Dried Fruits to International Markets

Officials from Ghazni’s Department of Industry and Trade report that in the current solar year, 13,000 metric tons of almonds, raisins, and dried plums have been exported from the province to several countries.
According to these officials, these products are among Ghazni’s key agricultural commodities, supplying part of the demand in foreign markets annually. Due to their high quality, Ghazni’s almonds and raisins hold a special place among Afghanistan’s export items.
Ghazni is one of the provinces with extensive orchards in the central region of the country, and many residents make their living through cultivating and processing dried fruits. However, traders consistently emphasize the need for improved facilities in transit, standardized packaging, and access to global markets.
While the country’s economy faces extensive challenges, increasing agricultural exports can help enhance farmers’ incomes and promote local trade growth. This, however, requires coordinated planning and practical support from the Taliban administration for the private sector.
