Five Dead After Vehicle Falls into Kokcha River in Badakhshan

Five people have died following a traffic accident on the Kasham–Faizabad highway in Badakhshan province. According to Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesperson for the Badakhshan Police under Taliban administration, the incident occurred when a vehicle fell into the Kokcha River.

Based on the information provided, four bodies have been recovered from the water so far, while one remains missing. Efforts to locate the missing body are ongoing.

The Kasham–Faizabad route is one of the main highways in Badakhshan, with certain sections characterized by mountainous twists and turns. Due to the lack of adequate safety measures, this road frequently witnesses traffic accidents.
